Qualifications:
Directors/Owners have a BS in
Child Psychology, Science, Health and Education.
Head Teacher has a Master in Education
along with many years of experience.
All staff are aproved by State of CT
and have training in First Aid abd CPR.

Philosophy:
Shiny Little Stars believe that children can only develop to their full potential when they feel at ease in their surroundings.
To this end we aim to provide a safe, stimulating and happy learning environment.
We base our child care provision and teaching on models which focus on developing the whole child (socially, cognitively,
emotionally, and physically) and base our learning program on what each individual child is able to do.
We acknowledge that all children bring with them their own experiences, knowledge of home language, and culture. We value
these, and actively promote an understanding of each other's backgrounds so that our children develop an open mind, preparing them
for life as adults in an ever-changing world.
Shiny Little Stars is a program licensed by State of Connecticut. The providers have experience in working with children as well as
a CDA certification. Part of Shiny Little Stars team takes a social service, a dentist, a educational and a nurse/ health
consultant.
We hope to make you feel a part of our team, as Shiny Little Stars is a place where parents and indeed, the entire
family, play a very integral part in the education process.

Registration Info:
A $100 registration fee is applied.
Two weeks deposit is needed at
registration time to reserve the spot.

• 3 yrs. To 5 yrs. : $325
Fees are to be reviewed every
year in September.
Part Time:
• minimum 2 days: $75/day
Extra time: $10/hour

Meals & Menus:
Snacks and drinks are provided by the center.
Lunches are to be packed by parents.

Curriculum:
Our program is divided into the following six broad areas:
* social and emotional development
* communication, language and literacy development
* mathematical development
* knowledge and understanding of the world
* physical development
* creative development
The important element of play underpins all learning in our day care. Through play, children feel free to explore and experiment - often without even realizing that they are learning. Play situations found within our day care may be either planned by our staff, or may be spontaneous initiatives taken by the children, but our aim is to always make play both enjoyable and challenging - for both the children and staff!
