They will be loved and cared for while in my care. Manners will be taught, as well as sharing, and age-appropriate activities, reading and learning will be shared and taught daily. We have many toys and activities for the children, as well as a play kitchen, a Little Tikes Tool Station, games, books, puzzles, etc. For our outdoor activities, we have an area to run and play, with a Little Tikes Playhouse, Cozy Coupe and slides. Each child will have his/her own crib in the nursery room, and the two-year-olds will have cots in the main area, as they are separated from the little ones. There is a changing table. Meals are nutritious, serving breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack, and menus follow State guidelines through Day Care Connection, and I am a member of Childcare Aware and have completed the Step-It-Up Program through that group, as well. Qualifications: Early on, I opened a daycare when my first child was still an infant so I could stay home with her (she will be 29 soon!). Later, we had another daughter who has Down Syndrome (she will soon be 27!). With the visits three times a week from the therapists, it was necessary to suspend our daycare business. We later had a son (who has since gone home to be with the Lord). We moved to Lenexa in 1998; however, we are in the DeSoto School District. As our children grew older, we later became caregivers for my parents. My mother is still living with us. Our oldest daughter married in 2012, and they had a little girl. They came to live with us, until they moved to Lawrence. We missed having our sweet granddaughter in the house … What to do?? Start daycare again! Since, then they have had another beautiful daughter! Now, we are enjoying having little ones in our home again!! It is a pleasure to be able to care for them and watch them grow! Christian values are taught in our home and love, hugs, respect and care are shared each day. My husband of nearly 35 years is the love of my life, a great daddy and a wonderful "Opa" -- and he is my back-up daycare provider should I not be available. As a licensed daycare provider through the State of Kansas/Kansas Department of Health and Environment, I am CPR and First Aid trained, and continually take classes to promote the health, education and well-being of the children in my care. I also participate in the Child Food Program through Day Care Connection, so you may be assured that your children are being fed healthy meals. Philosophy: Through daily activities and playtime, your children will learn as they grow. Age-appropriate activities are taught, and any goals or milestones that you may want to work toward will be worked on while your child is in my care. Setting goals and achieving milestones are so exciting for the children and the parents, and I am here to help! I love the saying, "Learning is playing, and playing is learning!" It is so true! Although the State of Kansas has approved my license for 10 children, the City of Lenexa allows only six, with a maximum of three infants (newborn to 18 months of age) in either case. You can be assured that your child will certainly have the attention he/she needs during daycare time with the smaller number of children in care. I do not transport children, however, we do take walks/strolls around the neighborhood and nearby park to play. I care for the children until the time they begin preschool/school since transportation is not provided. Registration & Tuition: Please call for an appointment and availability, as space is limited. Tuition is due at the start of the week on Monday mornings.
