Description

My name is Jenn and I've been in child care my entire life...literally! My mom ran Stay N Play for 25 years before me and she still comes over to play and help out. I like to think of Stay N Play as a home away from home for your little ones.

I'm a city licensed and state registered home daycare. I have a large playroom and sleeping area and a big backyard with lots of things to play with and explore. Stay N Play is a member of the Texas Child Food Program, and we offer healthy meals and snacks for your children.

I like to do all the things you would do if you could stay home with your child. Learning through play is such a wonderful experience for these guys. They love puzzles, helping prepare meals, coloring, and making big messes! We're outside exploring as many days as the Texas weather will allow.

All of my infants get plenty of special attention, with lots of hands on care. The babies have their own cribs, sheets, and bottles, no sharing germs there, and my big guys have their very own cots, blankies, and pillows, too.

Our home is inspected regularly by the city, state, food program, and fire department. We have reasonable set rates, but are always willing to work with you if necessary. We would love to have you call for an appointment to stop by and check us out, and if you decide to...

Come Stay N Play!

Qualifications

I am certified in both infant and child/adult CPR. I am also certified in First Aid. I have been taking care of children for over 15 years and have been running my own business for the past 6 years.

Philosophy

Being a mother now, I realize how important it is to have loving and safe care, and I couldn't imagine having to leave my son with someone I didn't know. However, I realize that child care is a necessity for most families today. Therefore, it is my personal goal, to make sure each and every child in my care feels happy and safe and loved. I want my kiddos parents to feel the same way when they leave for work each morning.

Here are a few of my Philosophies on some important issues for parents today:

Discipline

As far as discipline is concerned, my motto is redirection. I always try to find out the root of the problem and either remove the offending object or resolve the conflict between the kids. Time out is the last resort and I use it when redirection isn't working.

Teaching

I like to do all the things you would do if you could stay home with your child. My thinking is that children will be in school for at least 12 years, so let them be children while they can! I thoroughly believe in learning through play. It is such a wonderful experience for these guys. They love puzzles, helping prepare meals, coloring, and making big messes! We explore the outdoors as many days as the Texas weather will allow.

Potty Training

Toilet training will come when it comes :) The more you try to force a child to do something the more they will resist you. That's just the law of the land when it comes to toddlers. As soon as your child starts to show interest in the potty, we can set up a system that you and I can collaborate on. This way everything is consistent for the little ones. Reward systems and potty charts also work really well when starting out.
